Annex XIII — Industrial Battery DPP Data Requirements

Annex XIII of Regulation (EU) 2023/1542 specifies the minimum data categories and fields that must be included in the digital product passport (battery passport) for industrial batteries — that is, rechargeable batteries not classified as EV, LMT, SLI, or portable batteries, with a capacity greater than 2 kWh.

This page provides a structured field-by-field reference for Annex XIII, including the mandatory/recommended status of each field and where it appears in the Traceable platform.

Legal Disclaimer

This documentation is informational only and does not constitute legal advice. The Annex XIII field list reflects the regulation as published; additional fields may be added by Commission delegated act. Consult qualified legal counsel for compliance decisions specific to your products.

Understanding This Reference

Mandatory: Required by Annex XIII or the main articles of the regulation. A DPP missing a mandatory field does not comply with the regulation.

Recommended: Not explicitly required by Annex XIII but strongly recommended based on regulatory best practice, upcoming delegated act expectations, or market surveillance readiness. Leaving these fields blank may create compliance risk as delegated acts are finalised.

Traceable Location: The section of the Traceable DPP Builder where this field is entered.
