v0.99.16: Faster public passports, verified GS1 prefixes and separate serial and batch columns

This release makes public passports faster to load, adds verification for the GS1 prefixes you declare, and gives bulk import separate serial number and batch ID columns.

Faster public passports

  • Public passports load faster, and stay current when you publish, withdraw or republish.

GS1 prefix verification

  • Declared prefixes are verified. A GS1 prefix you declare is a claim that Traceable reviews and verifies, and the publish checks count only verified prefixes. See GS1 prefixes.

Consistent access tiers

  • A template's access tier applies in the same way on the passport page, the API, JSON-LD and the versioned view.

Serial numbers, batch IDs and import

  • One rule everywhere. Serial and batch codes are 1 to 20 characters: letters, digits, ., _ and -, starting with a letter or digit. The wizard, the validator, the registry and the GS1 resolver apply the same rule, and battery codes are unique across a company's models.
  • Separate import columns. Bulk import takes serial_number and batch_id as separate columns. See Import products.
  • Import results match what was created. The result of a bulk import reports exactly the products that were created.

What to update

A CSV file whose header still has the combined batch_or_serial_number column is refused. Download the current template and use the two separate columns.
