v0.99.11: EU data-points alignment, GTIN integrity, external carriers, and the registry loop closed

A large alignment release: the battery templates are corrected against the European Commission's data-points guidance (including suspending carbon-footprint blocking for EV), GTINs gain integrity guarantees, printed customer QR codes are respected, and the registry submission loop closes end to end.

Template corrections against the Commission's guidance​

The battery templates were aligned to the Commission's "Digital Batteries Passport — data points by category" guidance (28 July 2026):

  • Battery Lifecycle Status becomes a required field on all four regulated templates, with five values: Original, Repurposed, Re-used, Remanufactured, Waste.
  • Passport lineage fields (Original Passport URL, Linked Passport URN) are available on all regulated templates and become required at publish when the lifecycle status is Repurposed or Remanufactured.
  • State of Certified Energy (SOCE) is a new required EV field; state of health and state of charge on EV become optional, per the guidance.
  • Required flags across the templates were aligned to the guidance's own table, and missing EU-mandatory fields were inserted.
  • Industrial cycle-life datapoints are conditionally required: they bind for stationary energy-storage and forklift applications and stay optional for others.
  • EV carbon-footprint blocking is suspended: the guidance marks the carbon-footprint declaration "not to be filled/displayed as of February 2027, format still to be specified in the upcoming implementing act" for all categories including EV, superseding the position under which EV blocked from 18 February 2025. Nothing here relaxes an obligation: fields stay visible with the date they start to bind, and the publish gate resumes enforcement on each date without any manual step.

GTIN and carrier integrity​

  • GTIN check digits are validated at product create and update.
  • GTIN uniqueness is now global across the platform, not merely within one account.
  • A public /01/{gtin} link that matches more than one product now renders a chooser page instead of silently serving the oldest match.
  • External carrier mode: when your customer's GS1 Digital Link QR code is already printed on the battery, you can declare that carrier as authoritative so the platform stops generating a competing one, and download a GS1 mapping file for the customer's resolver operator.
  • Bulk import gains a hard 100-row cap per file, refused up front rather than failing midway.
  • Imported products now receive the system battery-passport URN, fixing a gap where bulk-imported products could never pass the publish gate.

Registry submissions​

  • The registry loop closes: record the registration URI for successful items, copy a UPI for the registry's single-item online form, and see sandbox/test filings badged as such. Registration intents now require a published product, the Editor role, and an active company.
  • Stuck submissions are swept and repaired automatically, without any state being decided on your behalf.

Voluntary-scope groundwork​

Passports for batteries outside the Art. 77(1) mandate now carry a public notice that publication is voluntary. The full voluntary rule-set followed in v0.99.13.

Also​

  • 10-digit TARIC commodity codes are accepted by truncation to their 8-digit CN root; your entered value is stored unchanged.
  • A company's founding sign-up user is created as team Admin.
  • Registry filing evidence is exempt from retention purges and append-only.
