DPP Field Visibility
The DPP Field Visibility editor lets you control which fields from your product's compliance form data are visible on the public-facing Digital Product Passport page. By default, all fields are shown. You can hide individual fields if they contain commercially sensitive information that you do not want to display publicly, while still maintaining the data internally for compliance and verifier review.
Accessing the Visibility Editor
- Navigate to Products and open the product you want to configure.
- In the product sidebar, click Visibility (or navigate to the product detail page and select the Visibility tab).
- The visibility editor opens showing all fields present in the product's DPP data.
How Field Visibility Works
The visibility editor shows every field currently in your product's DPP data, with a toggle switch next to each one.
- Toggle on (visible) — the field and its value are displayed on the public DPP page.
- Toggle off (hidden) — the field is not shown on the public DPP page. It is still stored internally and visible to verifiers and your team.
The header of the editor shows a summary count: "Showing X of Y fields".
Bulk Controls
Two buttons let you change all fields at once:
| Button | Action |
|---|---|
| Show all | Turns on all field toggles — every field becomes visible |
| Hide all | Turns off all field toggles — no fields are visible on the public DPP |
Using "Hide all" will result in a public DPP that shows no product data. This may affect your regulatory compliance posture — the EU Battery Regulation requires certain mandatory fields to be publicly accessible. Use selective hiding rather than blanket suppression.
Saving Changes
After adjusting the toggles, click Save visibility to apply the changes. The button is enabled only when you have made changes that differ from the current saved state.
To discard unsaved changes and revert to the current saved state, click Reset.
Changes take effect immediately on the public DPP page after saving.
Default Behaviour
If you have never configured field visibility for a product, all fields are visible by default. This is equivalent to saving with every toggle switched on. There is no public/private distinction until you explicitly configure it.
Showcase and demo products used for marketing have their visibility configuration locked and cannot be modified.
What Field Visibility Does Not Do
- It does not delete or modify your DPP data. Hidden fields remain fully intact in your account. You can restore them at any time by toggling them back on.
- It does not affect verifier access. Verifiers reviewing your DPP can see all fields regardless of public visibility settings.
- It does not remove mandatory regulatory fields from verifier view. The regulatory record is separate from what is displayed publicly.
