Branding
Branding settings customise the public DPP viewer — the page that customers, supply chain partners, and market surveillance authorities see when they scan the QR code on your battery product. Your branding settings have no effect on the Traceable Operator Portal itself.
Navigate to Settings → Branding to configure your brand presentation.
What Branding Customises
When someone scans the QR code on one of your batteries, they land on a public DPP viewer page hosted by Traceable. This page displays the product's digital passport data in a structured, human-readable format. Branding settings control the visual identity of that page so it is clearly associated with your company.
Customisable Elements
Company Logo
Your logo is displayed in the top-left of the public DPP viewer on every DPP associated with your account.
- Accepted formats: PNG, SVG. JPEG is accepted but SVG or PNG is recommended for sharp rendering at all screen sizes.
- Maximum file size: 2 MB.
- Recommended dimensions: No minimum size is enforced, but logos that are too small (below approximately 100px in their shorter dimension) may appear blurry on high-density screens. A square or near-square logo works best.
To upload a logo:
- Under Company logo, click Upload logo.
- Select your file.
- Use the crop tool if needed to adjust the display area.
- Click Save.
The logo is applied to all published DPPs immediately. Previously issued QR codes do not need to be re-generated — the viewer updates automatically.
Primary Colour
The primary colour is used for buttons, interactive highlights, and accent elements in the public DPP viewer. Set it to your brand's primary colour to give the viewer a consistent look with your other customer-facing materials.
- Enter a hex colour code (e.g.,
#1A73E8). - The colour is applied in real time in the preview panel.
- Ensure sufficient contrast between the primary colour and white text — Traceable displays a warning if the selected colour fails WCAG AA contrast requirements.
Company Name
The company name displayed on the public DPP viewer as the DPP author. This defaults to the legal company name from your Account Settings but can be overridden here if you have a trading name that differs from your registered legal name.
For regulatory purposes, the legal company name is always retained in the underlying DPP data and is visible to market surveillance authorities regardless of the display name set here.
Contact Details
You can optionally display contact information on the public DPP viewer to allow authorities or customers to reach you with queries about a specific product:
- Contact email — a dedicated product compliance or customer service email address.
- Phone number — optional.
- Website URL — optional. Displayed as a clickable link.
These fields are independent of your main account contact details in Account Settings. You may use a dedicated compliance team address here rather than your general company contact.
Previewing Your Branding
The preview panel on the right side of the Branding settings page shows a live rendering of how the public DPP viewer will look with your current settings. The preview updates in real time as you make changes.
Save your changes before navigating away — the preview reflects unsaved changes, but the live viewer is only updated after you click Save branding.
What Is Not Customisable
The following elements of the public DPP viewer are fixed and cannot be altered:
| Element | Reason |
|---|---|
| Core DPP data layout | The structure of data fields (chemistry, capacity, compliance status, recycled content, etc.) follows the EU Battery Regulation 2023/1542 data schema. It cannot be rearranged or omitted. |
| Legal notices and data source attribution | A notice identifying Traceable as the platform hosting the DPP is displayed in the footer. This is a platform integrity and transparency requirement. |
| Traceable QR code format | QR codes are generated in a standardised format compliant with the Battery Regulation's product passport identifier requirements. |
| Operator Portal UI | Branding settings apply exclusively to the public viewer. The Operator Portal used by your team retains Traceable's standard interface. |
Resetting to Default
To remove all branding customisations and return to the default Traceable public viewer appearance:
- On the Branding page, click Reset to default.
- Confirm the reset in the dialogue.
All customised elements — logo, primary colour, display company name, and contact details — are cleared. The public viewer reverts to the default Traceable styling immediately. This action cannot be undone, but you can re-upload your branding assets at any time.
