DPP Field Visibility
The DPP Field Visibility editor lets you control which fields from your product's compliance form data are visible on the public-facing Digital Product Passport page. By default, all fields are shown. You can hide individual fields if they contain commercially sensitive information that you do not want to display publicly, while still keeping the data stored on your product.
Accessing the Visibility Editor
- Open Products > My products.
- Select the product's name to open its product page. On the Overview tab, find the Public passport card.
- Select Change visibility. A role that cannot edit sees See visibility instead. The Public DPP Visibility page lists every field stored on the product, inside the product page with the Overview tab still selected.
Your company needs the Edit Product Data module to use this page. You need the Editor, Approver or Admin role to save changes. A product with no saved data shows a message asking you to add fields in the product editor first.
How Field Visibility Works
The editor lists every field stored on the product by its field id, with a toggle switch next to each one, except fields that are always public.
- Toggle on (visible): the field and its value are displayed on the public DPP page.
- Toggle off (hidden): the field is not shown on the public DPP page.
Some fields show Always public instead of a switch. The Regulation makes them public battery passport attributes, so they cannot be hidden and they stay visible whatever you choose.
The header of the editor shows a summary count: "Showing X of Y fields". Fields marked Always public count as visible.
Bulk Controls
Two buttons let you change all fields at once:

Hide all hides every field you are allowed to hide. The fields the Regulation makes public stay visible, and the page marks them Always public. Hiding the other fields still changes what visitors see, so check the public page after saving.
Saving Changes
After adjusting the toggles, click Save visibility to apply the changes. The button is enabled only when you have made changes that differ from the current saved state. A toast then reads "Visibility updated" and says how many fields are visible on the public DPP. If every field is switched on, the toast instead reads "Nothing is hidden by you. Some fields are shown only to authorised parties, not the public passport."
To discard unsaved changes and revert to the current saved state, click Reset.
Changes take effect immediately on the public DPP page and its JSON-LD output after saving. You do not need to publish again.
Default Behaviour
If you have never configured field visibility for a product, all fields are visible by default. This is equivalent to saving with every toggle switched on. There is no public/private distinction until you explicitly configure it.
Showcase and demo products used for marketing have their visibility configuration locked and cannot be modified. The editor is also read-only during a support session.
What Field Visibility Does Not Do
- It does not delete or modify your DPP data. Hidden fields stay stored on your product; they are only removed from the public passport and its JSON-LD output. You can restore them at any time by toggling them back on.
